一、教材分析
本单元是以Why do you like Australia?为题的对话,具体内容是:Amy 和Lingling在看一张澳大利亚地图时,引发的一段对话。文中Amy告诉Lingling,她很喜欢澳大利亚,因此Lingling好奇的问其原因,Amy认真的回答。
本单元的语言结构学习内容是如何让运用Why…?询问原因,并以Because…来回答。
Why与Because的问答是本册出现的新知识点。且文中涉及的澳大利亚的相关内容也是首次出现在教材中。澳大利亚作为重要的英语国家,是每位英语学习者都应了解的,也是符合课程标准中二级的要求,即学生乐于了解异国文化、习俗。所以本课的重点是:在理解对话内容、学习本课重点语句的同时,帮助学生初步了解澳大利亚的相关知识,比如语言、当地动物等。
本单元功能是用Why和Because进行问答。
本功能的语用目的是询问原因,并回答,以此了解他人对某事、某物的喜好原因。
1.学习目标:
1)学生能听懂、读出、说出新单词:Australia(Australian), because, map, language,kangaroo,koala;重点句:Why do you like Australia? Because I love Australian animals. Why do you love kangaroos and koalas? Because they are very, very cute. 合作组内能力较强的学生能够当堂记忆新单词与句子,并在复述课文环节默写出单词。
2)学生能听懂并流利朗读课文。合作组内能力较强的学生能够有感情的表演完整对话或语篇中的重要图片内容。
3)通过文本的学习,学生能对澳大利亚有初步的了解,感知中外文化的差异。
2.重、难点:
灵活运用重点句Why…?Because…询问并回答原因,帮助潜质生能用本课重点句式问答课文中相关内容,促进优质生能用句式问答生活中的问题。
三、教学策略
借助澳大利亚的视频,调动学生感官,运用学生已有知识经验以及在课前预习的基础上,在自由会话中自然导入。借助文本所创设的情境,进行语言操练,在完成任务的同时,提高语用能力。并通过合理的小组活动,分享自己的所获。
四、教具:课件、单词卡片、头饰、辅学纸、配套练习册等。
五、教学过程
Step I Warm up
1. Show a map of Australia and talk about it.
1) T: You have known something about Australia before the class. Look, here’s a map of Australia.
Learn the new words “map, Australia”
2) T: Here’s a map of China. We speak Chinese in China. Do you know “What language do they speak in Australia?”
Get the answer.
S: They speak English.
Learn the new word “language”.

2. Enjoy a movie of Australia
Step II Presentation
1. Watch the video and choose.
T: Australia is a very beautiful country. Amy likes it. She will go there one day. Watch the video and finish the exercises. (配套练习册 P33 1)
